Blogging and social media started out as forms of personal expression - places where people could share their thoughts with each other an communicate details about specific areas of expertise to their peers. Since then, the business wourld has jumped on the bandwagon, identifying the huge potential that both blogging and social media have for connecting people and distributing information on a large scale in a way that will be heard. Many, if not most of us are now writing, tweeting or posting in some form motivated by business goals - but we all still have our individual personalities.
When we're communicating on behalf of a business, project or any other secondary personality with alternative goals, where does that voice tail off and our own pick up? Business communications are most successful when injected with personality, and our personal accounts are constantly being pulled by business to endorse causes, review products, even host sweepstakes. This panel will share some of our experiences with the duality of online communication, and some insights into our methods for maintaing our personal sanity throughout the process.
Jenn Lowther
Jenn is the Director of Social Media for 6S Marketing, responsible for the online personalities of dozens of business clients. She also maintains a very active personal Twitter account: @JennMae and regularly participates in conversations online from her own perspective.

Part of the Social Media team for Rogers Canada, Miranda handles customer service, news and information for one of Canada's largest brands. When not writing for RedBoard or Tweeting as @rogersMiranda, she also maintains @MirandaMac and blogs for herself whenever she can find time.
Conner Galway
As Co-Founder and Director of Social Media Marketing for Screen World Media, Conner has built and maintained blogs in the bridal, real estate and marketing industries. He maintains Twitter and Facebook personalities in a variety of other areas while developing his business' as well as his own.
Parveen Kaler
Director of Development at Tingle.com. Tingle is an iPhone App (and soon Android) that helps you find singles at places in your neighbourhood. He also does mobile development and strategy consulting at Smartful Studios.
In a previous lifetime, Parveen worked in the game development industry. He has written code for PC, XBox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and Sony PSP games. Parveen has a BSc in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University.
